For Immediate Release Contact: Fire Information 928-718-3756 July 2, 2013 – 8:00 a.m. Dean Peak Fire Transition Acres: 2,350 Start date: June 28, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. Cause: Lightning Location: 10 miles southeast of Kingman, AZ Containment: 0 percent Fuels: Pinyon, juniper, Ponderosa pine Terrain: Steep, rugged Resources: 2 helicopters, 2 hotshot crews, 2 hand Total Personnel: 175 crews, 1 engine, 2 water tenders KINGMAN, AZ – The Dean Peak Fire transitioned from a local Type III organization to the Northern Arizona Type II Incident Management Team led by Incident Commander Matt Reidy at 8:00 p.m. Monday. The fire is being managed in a full suppression strategy and is burning in steep, rugged terrain with few natural barriers to stop fire spread. Additional resources have been ordered to assist with containment of the fire.
